Jan-Mar 2019

Man. I was doing so well with keeping up! And you'd think that since I don't have a full-time job that I would have no problem keeping up with this stuff! Oh well...here it is anyway.

They opened a Texas Roadhouse super close to us, and that's Joshua's favorite place for a steak. So we braved the crowds, endured the noise, and had a great time.
This girl. Always reading.

The kids love to rub Joshua's head and say, "Fuzzy!!!"

LOVE them messing around together!

I'm not even sure what this is.

Ryan made the face on the right, which reminded me of his face on the left at another Texas Roadhouse.
And it wouldn't be January in Indiana without some snow! The kids loved it. A lot.
This is called "pottering" where you take a pic while jumping in the air and it looks like you're flying (like Harry Potter on his broomstick).

Off for some sledding adventures!

And at a park near our home (we tried two places that day).

Bundled up like Nanook of the North!

You'll need to enlarge the photo, but the tree is encased in ice. It was beautiful, and made for some crazy sledding!

Bella had clearly taken my phone and done a random selfie.

Just a girl and her book and dog. What else does one need?

A snow day calls for Jack's Donuts! Bella...oh my goodness, that child!

Ryan sporting his new men's size 7.5 shoes!
The Fishers Library hosted a Harry Potter night, so all four of us got to go. It was amazing - our little library is good for books and movies, but we "library hop" for the rest of our fun!
Ryan is obsessed with chess!

Making yummy potions.

Sculpting magical creatures.

Wand practice.

Heading off to Hogwarts.

Checking our maps so we don't miss anything good!
Bella had a "tongue tattoo" sucker. You place it on your tongue, and it leaves its mark!
Success!
Then she made this face...

...which reminded me of this face. I absolutely love that picture of her!

Just a random night chilling with Sasha!

Because we can't just cut up pancakes and eat them. We have to arrange them in perfect semicircles so that each piece gets syrup. My word this child!

Not sure what we were doing, but apparently it required a selfie!

Went to the AT&T store to get Bella an upgraded phone. A phone store. With TONS of screens to play on. And she's sitting on a bench reading a book. The employees said they'd never seen that before!

The snake obsession continues...

Love my kiddos. Even Bella's weird faces!

'Nuff said.
Ryan's school had a fundraiser selling Pacers tickets. He sold enough that we got to get there early and watch the teams warm up from the 5th row!

I could get used to these seats!

Ryan O'Quinn chatting with his charity peeps.

Woot woot! Club seats that came with servers! No getting up and waiting in lines for food!

Much better than last year's nosebleeds!

I re-instituted "Screen Free Sunday" one weekend. The kids decided to get crafty. They loved it and made some great pictures!

The horns. She comes by them naturally sometimes!
Performances! Sadly they didn't send us a recording of the musical this year, but just know that Bella is a NATURAL. She stood out among the chorus. Ask anyone! And Ryan was quite the performer as well - he put his heart and soul into his parts!

Bella is a lover of all holidays, so it's no surprise she decked herself out for St. Patrick's Day (we are legitimately Irish after all). She went to church this way. Yep. Mustache and all. When our children's pastor walked in and saw her he said, "Bella, I would expect nothing less." She definitely has spirit!

This was lying around the house. And I'm not sure who this Avery girl is, but this was the ONLY Valentine Ryan kept when he went through is bag. He doesn't know I took this picture and I haven't asked about her, but I'm curious to see her when the yearbooks come out!
This girl definitely has her own sense of style! She picked up this "old lady hat" as I call it at our women's clothing swap and has worn it ever since.
And let's not forget her outfit for "Crazy Sock Day" at school. Yep, those are "knee socks" that go UP to her thighs and are UNDER her shorts. And scrunchies between the knee highs and the socks with the wings. Honestly. I verified that it wasn't "Crazy Outfit Day" instead. Kitty felt she rocked this outfit. 13/10 for boldness!
Once again the Fishers Library has the hookup! Their whole lower level is full of art supplies, pottery wheels, a 3D printer, laser engravers, a recording studio - you name it! You can just go there, check out an art kit (like Bella's origami) and play until you're done! Ryan played with MagnaTiles the whole time.

The 4th graders always have a research project on a famous person. Ryan got his third choice - Albert Einstein. We struggled with understanding both this general and specific theories of relativity, but in the end Ryan could explained what E=mc2 meant and was the cutest crazy-haired scientist ever.

 More to come next month!
