The Countdown Continues-Days 9-18

Well, there won't be 9 activities on here because some I couldn't photograph (like going to see Christmas lights on Day 14), one craft fail (Day 10's stained glass windows with crayon shavings) and some things just got shoved off the calendar (unexpected meetings at church and sleepovers at Grammy & Grandpa's for Days 11 and 16). However, here's what we did accomplish:
Day 9: I spent a ton of time cutting out felt ornaments so the kids could decorate their own trees. Bella loved it, Ryan wanted no part of it.
Here's Bella's finished tree. She hasn't embraced the "less is more" mindset yet.

Day 12: Joshua and I decided to start a Hasseld tradition of decorating gingerbread houses. For the past two years we've bought the pre-baked kits. This year we went with graham crackers. Ryan had a blast doing his house (although more candy went in his mouth than on his house).
Joshua starts to build Bella's house. It's serious stuff.

Very serious. Here are the supports under the roof!

And all the good stuff, of course!

Joshua ended up making a little village. The "work in progress" on the right is the corner store. He really gets into it. As in, the kids and I finished and went to bed and he was still working. (The trees were added after Day 17-see below.)

Day 17? Sugarcone trees. Ryan shook his little heart out!

But I think it turned out very well! Yep, that's colored sugar all over his face and hands. He loved this craft!
Bella plots hers out very carefully.

These are the finished Reindeer cups from the last post!

Day 15 was snowman pancakes! Blueberries and mini chocolate chips made great faces and buttons, a fruit roll-up scarf and coconut snow finished them off.
