A ONEderful year!

For the first time ever, I think, I've gotten these in chronological order so that our April comes first and we finish with the most recent events. Well, we've hit the one year mile marker with Ryan, and I'm not sure how often I'll post after this. My kids pull lots of shenanigans so I don't think I'll have any lack of material; it's just a matter of gathering it all up. In any case, the last month in pictures awaits...

The museum. LOVE the museum. Every time I have something planned and ask Isabella, "And guess what we're gonna do?" she goes, "Go to the mooseeum!" So one slow April day the kids and I went. We got there when they opened, packed a lunch and stayed til naptime. It's an awesome, free way to spend a morning. And they love it. Ryan is just now getting tall enough to play in the toddler area, and you can see the delight on his face at soaking himself at the water table. I'm half tempted to send this one to the museum.

The special exhibit this time around was Bob the Builder. Bells has never seen this show, but she's big on construction vehicles so this was right up her alley. She even let Ryan tag a long.

And then in the girly tomboy way that is Isabella, she had a blast being receptionist in the Barbie exhibit.

I wish I could have gotten a better shot of this one, but it was on my phone so my photographic capabilities were limited: in a kicky spring outfit, sittin' on a bigwheel, blowin' at dandelion fluff. Life is good!

It feels like I have been to Chicago every other weekend for the past month! This was during a trip to help Mom with painting and decorating the house for selling. Ryan decided that he'd help paint as well and he started with his face and chest...

And it was this weekend that he first started walking by only holding on with one hand. Maga helped him along on the way to church...

And no trip to Lowe's is complete without riding in the Jimmie Johnson cart!

Our church has a food pantry and one Friday the kids and I volunteered to help pass out flyers to the neighbors about donating. Isabella actually helped quite a bit, and I thought I'd capture her first service project on "film." Hopefully it will be the first of many!

I love that he's so happy with a big piece of turkey on his chest. I'm surprised he let anything get past that sucking black hole of a mouth...

And where else? On the way to Chicago again! This time we were going to see Brian in Willy Wonka (he was brilliant!). Isabella has pulled out her "seekers" to look for el trains-her favorite thing about Chicago next to Uncle Jeff, of course!

Time to wax nostalgic: I remember when they brought Brian home from the hospital; how tiny, how dark, how truly amazing to hold the son of my brother. Now, that baby is a man, who is a very talented actor, and who is sitting here signing autographs for kids who saw the play. That still blows me away.

And this is just from a batch of cupcakes I made and am ridiculously proud of, like adding food coloring to cake mix is some great accomplishment! Still, they made me happy.

The kids and I went to Burger King one day last week for lunch. Bella chose the crown, of course, but Ryan got the plastic "Future Whopper Sandwich Eater" bib that cracked me up.

Haven't we all worn one of these at some point?

And my little hooligan turns one! We had his party last Saturday-some monkey cupcakes and ice cream. He didn't make nearly the mess Isabella did with her cake, but I don't think he's as big a fan of chocolate as she is. He is ridiculously clean at the end!

Aforementioned monkey cupcakes. I used vanilla wafers on them and later on in the week when I served them for a snack Isabella said, "Cupcake mouths!" The connections she makes both surprise and scare me!

My happy little man!

And a big thanks to our friend Josh who snapped a bunch of candid shots for me. I would add them here, but everyone said, "No, I don't want my picture taken!" so I'll honor those ridiculous requests. But I love this shot of me and my baby. I tickle him a lot and I love this moment captured on film. (Plus my hair looks amazing! LOL)

Until next time...
