He looks like he's tackling Pooh in this shot...while falling over.
This was Isabella just this morning helping me in the kitchen. She was mixing up pancakes, and did a pretty good job! Just like she used to do, she ate all the chocolate chips out first, and then got around to the pancake.
Haven't we all been half-naked on a Sit-N-Spin? She loves this thing and likes to tell me when she's dizzy. This was also the night she threw up in her bib. Coincidence? Hmm...
Joshua decided she needed bedding. His thinking is that she's been waking up in the middle of night because she's cold, and because she has a tiny baby blanket that we put on her before bed, and then it ends up wadded up around her as she sleeps-she's one crazy sleeper. Our choices were Disney Princesses and Cars. You can see what she got. She wasn't even in the store with us, but Joshua said, "If it makes her happy, let's get the cars." Note:when I went in to feed Ryan one night she was sleeping perpendicularly on her bed, her head off the end, and not a single cover on her. Still, she loves her bedding. She literally kisses her Lightning McQueen pillowcase before bed-on the mouth!
Another sign that our girl is growing up: Dora underpants. She hasn't mastered them, but she's been doing a good job on the potty, so I thought I'd get her some 'big girl panties.' The jury's still out, but nothing would please her except taking off her pants and diaper immediately and putting on her Dora undies the minute I brought them home from the store.
And here's my Little Man looking adorable in his "Banana Bandit" outfit and shoes. Man, I love those shoes!
Lovin' the grin!
So, Ryan's a night owl, apparently and doesn't like to go to bed until 8:00 or 8:30, about the time I'm getting Bells ready. Every night I start the bedtime ritual with Isabella at 8:00-she puts her stuff away, gets on jammies, goes potty, brushes her teeth, and then I read to her. Ryan was down for the night-or so I thought-until I saw two little eyes peeking up over the crib bumper. The picture just doesn't capture the absolute impish look that I caught across the room.
The Police Academy is wearing Joshua out! But Ryan's having a blast. I love how his arm is tucked behind his head as he's chillin'.
And this is what happens when you take Isabella to small group at the home of your childless friends. They try to keep her busy so they give her markers. And not the washable kind either. (I thought when they said, "Do you want to color?" that they'd given her crayons.) So while we spent time discussing God's word, Isabella was making herself into a piece of art. I didn't even try to wash the clothes-just tossed them in the garbage. She came clean after two baths.
Ryan's big with the grins now. He is a very happy baby-happier than I remember Isabella being, but Joshua assures me she was just as smiley.
See? A happy little guy, especially when I'm changing his diaper because I make a big fuss over him. His shirt says "Mommy Thinks I'm Cool." And I do!
Just in case you think every day is sunshine and Disney bluebirds, a rare fussy moment caught on film. It was such a hit when I did it with Isabella.
Food! Glorious food! We've started it because Ryan is just so hungry all the time. I usually nurse him and then supplement with some formula, cereal, pears, peas or sweet potatoes-they're all equally loved. Here he is with "cereal face."
And bathtub shots! Note: this is probably the only time you won't see his chicken hair sticking up in the back.
Last month I pulled out the jumping horsey that Bells got for Easter. Ryan was only able to get one foot on the ground at a time, and then he was able to stand up. Well, now he gets practically airborn in that thing-he really gives it a go! Here's Isabella chatting it up with Little Man. There's nothing cuter than watching her entertain him.
And you know you've left your son in the jumperoo too long when you come in and see this...
Throughout the summer, my friend Shannon and I would take our kids on playdates every Wednesday. Her boys are six months older than my two, so our Wednesdays would give us a break, get us out in the sunshine, and let the kids (at least Isabella and her son Atticus) have some fun. She was always great to take amazing pictures of us. Here, take a look:
