Mommy's Big Girl

So Bella's now 14 months old (almost) and a bundle of energy! I thought I would include a few pictures of her in the past two months. She is such a sweet girl: always giving hugs and kisses, waving at total strangers in the store, and still being amazingly laid back even when she's tired. We are truly blessed with Isabella!

I decided to buy a swing for our deck. She absolutely loves it, evidenced by the gigantic smile on her face.

Bells gets free reign of the kitchen when I'm in there. Her favorite activities are rolling pop cans and water bottles across the floor, opening and closing all the doors and drawers, playing with Splenda packets, and occasionally licking the stove door. I'm not sure why on that one. Fortunately, even with the oven on, the door is cool.

I decided one day that it had been a while since I'd taken pictures of Bella, so I set out to capture "a day in the life." Here are a few more shots of her.

Here's her stacker toy in "Toy Corner" of our livingroom. It plays classical music and she can really shake her diaper-clad booty to those tunes!

One of her other favorite activities is pushing things around the house. She learned that my 9x13 baking pan slides nicely over the carpeting. Then she crawled in. When I'm up for it, I push her around the house in it. It's great fun!

I'm all about pictures of us together and since I rarely remember when Joshua's home, I take it upon myself to snap some. This is us right after we both got our haircuts-not at the same place, but the same basic cut! She went to "Cookie Cutters" and was perfectly still while they snipped away. She spent half her time watching herself in the mirror and other half watching Elmo in Grouchland, a particular treat since we don't watch TV at home.

Bathtime! This girl loves her bath! She also likes showers, which I learned out of necessity when she used the tub as a potty one night. Ugh.

Bella's into giving things "lovin.'" Here's she's giving Bunny lovin', but she's been known to give lovin' to my shoes and the laundry pile. :o) But when she gets those chubby arms around my neck, and gives Mommy lovin' (complete with back patting) well, you couldn't pay me enough to miss that!

One night after dinner Bells was signing for "more" of my pudding (even though it was my dessert and she hadn't had any). So, knowing that pudding and a one year old was a bad idea, and with me wearing white capris no less, I shared my sugar free pudding. The result was messy but adorable, as most of life with Isabella is.

We were so excited to have Aunt Amy and Aunt Jessica visit in mid-August! We stole away to Chicago for the day and here are pics of us hamming it up. And yes, we coordinated outfits! :o)

Well, since I won't give in and let Joshua have a dog (or a kitten, as was his latest request), we settled on a fish. Actually this came about because when the Aunts were here we went to the State Fair. While at the DNR exhibit, Bella practically jumped out of my arms and dove into the fish pond. We decided a fish would be a good, low maintenance pet and headed to PetCo for a Betta. Aunts Amy and Jessie were generous enough to buy a tank and now every time Bells sees "Fishy" (yes, we named the fish "Fish" the nickname for Frank Ichabod Steve Hasseld), she waves enthusiastically.

So, Nana bought Isabella this beautiful dress about 6 months ago. We haven't had any weddings she could wear it to, and it's too hard for her to crawl in (although hilarious to watch her crawl on all fours with it), so we decided to make it a photo shoot to remember the dress by. I love the bare feet! In looking at these now, I thought about redoing the shoot and making her hair look cuter with a bow or headband or something. (It's my CDO-it's like OCD, but the letters are in alphabetical order. As they should be.lol)

Teeth! She finally got the bottom two in!

And, what can I say? Like mother, like daughter!

And of course, let us not forget that the Colts' season opener is next week! To keep Isabella safe (as it is unwritten law in Indiana that you must wear Colts gear the weekend of a game and going without might be dangerous), Daddy bought her a Colts cheerleader outfit. I was a bit dubious about buying an 18-month outfit, but it turns out it's not all that big! My how she's grown!
