Summer Bucket List

All around Pinterest and blogland, moms are posting their "Summer Bucket List"-the must-do's before school rolls around in about 2 minutes. I saw the lists. I have visions of summer glory. I caved to the pressure and created our own list. Because of my type A++ personality, I scoured the internet for days coming up with the ultimate list. I spent at least two days typing it out, making every item a different color (see? A++), then messing with the fonts to make it all fit just perfectly on TWO pages. That's right. I had 83 items on my list-literally 83! Then I sat down to check out the summer and realized that, starting this "late" in the game, I have just over 60 days to accomplish the list. Oh my. So, I have it pared down to a mere 70, and that's as far as I'm willing to go! I wish I could show you my list-it's pretty! :o) But...I'll just post items we've done at the end of each week (this should have been Friday's post, but you're family and there's great grace in that as well as acceptance of my uber-OCD).
Fruit picking! Bella in her sunbonnet, of course.

Hard at work picking blueberries. Not sure how many went in mouths vs. in the baskets.

Ryan was a busy little helper too! From here we went on to pick black raspberries, and a few strawberries. We were too tired and hot to get a picture of all our goodies!
The Hot Wheels exhibit at The Children's Museum (love this place). There's a loop along the back wall so you climb the stairs, position your car, then let it fly into a bin.
Bella traded her sunbonnet for her "cowgore" hat this day.

Why yes, that is a diamond-crusted Hot Wheels car!
Fruit pops! I filled a mini muffin tray with all sorts of goodies, and the kids got to choose which ones to put where. Bella is, of course, planning hers out very carefully. (I wonder where she gets that from?)
And Ryan just jams them in. In fact, he jammed most of them in one popsicle so that I couldn't even put the stick in!
Despite Bella's face (it's the one she wanted to make), the fruit pops were a drippy success!
