Isabella Month Nine

Well, she's spent equal time inside of me as she has out in the big, wide world. Amazing! They say that when kids hit 9 months, there's a growth spurt. I believe it! Overnight it seems, Bella has gotten "older." She looks bigger. (We head to the dr. next week for her 9-month appointment so I'll have height and weight updates then.) She responds to her name (well, sometimes). She can manipulate herself and objects around her. She supposedly understands "no no" but we haven't had much luck with that one. :o) Well, as you can see in the pictures below, our little girl is growing up! She wasn't in a super-happy mood as she usually is, but still had enough vim and vigor to manhandle Tigger. And she cleans up well, considering last night her arms were literally bumpy from all the dried food stuck to them, and she left a nice little trail of puffs, pasta and pears from where I undressed her to her post in the bathtub. It wasn't pretty! (Notice the "Jelly shoes" in the picture-love 'em!)

Again, one of the joys of parenthood is dressing your kid goofy sometimes. I had these wonderful pictures of Isabella with this hat on in the Disney store, tongue out, smiling away...but they were on my phone. She's not quite as happy to be playing Cap'n Jack in these shots, but I thought it was cute anyway.

Bella's first trip to the park! Sunday made it into the 60's, so we hit the road and went to the park (or playground, if you're from around here). She loved it and we look forward to many more trips there as the weather gets even warmer!

This is the face of a girl who loves to swing!

My Uncle Richard was great at getting pictures of his girls just how they were: bed head, eating dirt, you name it. One of my favorite times with Bells is early in the morning when she first wakes up, still in her jammies, just being Bells! Notice the bald spot is slowly fading. Another sign my little girl is growing up. *sigh*

And her latest big-girl trick: standing up! I was a bit concerned at hearing of so many younger babies pulling up on stuff. "Why doesn't Isabella stand up? She's not pulling up on stuff either. My baby's slow!" So I picked her up, locked her knees, and showed her what standing was like. Now she's a master and she loves the new perspective she has on the world. (The talking table helps too. When it plays the ABC song, she dances to it.) I had to get a picture of her from the back-that fading bald spot, tiny neck, skinny back, cracks me up every time.

I'm pretty sure there's not a baby out there with more clothes than my little girl. Despite the boxes and boxes that Shari gave me, Bella's summer wardrobe was a little sparse. Enter my small group leader who loaned me some from her little girl. I had to rearrange the closet and refold all her clothes into small stacks so they'd all fit in her drawers!

All Bella's shoes-current and "future" sizes.

Those are all her barrettes on the back wall.
There's a whole tub of just headbands.

Sweaters and dresses hanging above boxes of clothes from size 0 to 4T.

These are just her pants and shorts. Well, there are a few more pair in another drawer, but you get the idea. All her drawers look like this!

Honestly, the girl's set for Sunday clothes from now until the Lord's return-no matter when that is!

Ah, my little fashionista. Sparkly silver headband, sweater (with matching Mary Janes, of course!) and jeans with hearts on them. She NEVER keeps shoes or socks on-but usually only from one foot. Go figure.

What do I do when I need to work in the kitchen, don't have room for the playpen and don't want Bella in her highchair (which to her instantly means food!)? Why, the laundry basket, of course! Hasn't every child spent their time in here at some point?

This year was Isabella's first Easter. I decided to skip the Easter basket in lieu of something big-her jumperoo. It's motion-sensitive to play western songs and neighs as she jumps. At first she wasn't so sure about it, but now she really gets going and practically catapults herself out of it. Happy times for Bella!

It was a little chilly Easter morning, so we added a sweater to Isabella's easter dress. The women at church all watch every week to see what she'll show up in! And I decided that I could probably do just as good a job as a portrait studio, so below are some "Easter" shots of my little girl. Notice the tongue, always on the move. I told Joshua she'll probably get it sunburned come summer because it's always sticking out of her mouth!

And spring! I was so happy for it to get even a little warmer, that I bought this headband at Target. Bella actually wore it out the first warm day we had-she was a hit at the library!

This last one is the look she gave me unflinchingly one morning. It just cracked me up, but she maintained this pensive pose for about 20 minutes. It's a perfect shot to end with: "What will I do for next month's pictures...?"
